AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani held a length discussion with Fabio Paratici about becoming the new sporting director of the club, a report has claimed.

After returning from a week in Dubai where he met with sponsors and the club’s commercial developments, Furlani has resumed the process of hiring a new director. He has in fact scheduled meetings with the various candidates, and Paratici is the main one.

According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), the pair had an introductory but also in-depth discussion recently, where the guidelines for the future of Milan were outlined, a crucial part in establishing synergy from day one.

What did they discuss? The summer transfer window and possible head coaches were spoken about, without obviously forgetting the economic aspect. Paratici must know the budget he will have to work with, which will be very important without Champions League football, as well as his salary.

So in the first meeting with Paratici, the topic was how to relaunch Milan for next season and on the work to be done to restructure the team. No definitive agreement has arrived, but this contact confirms how the former Juventus manager is the name with an advantage over the competition.
