Former Chelsea striker Demba Ba has been speaking about Cole Palmer and has suggested what the Blues could do to really help him.
Palmer has been nothing short of a revelation since arriving at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2023 and he’s not only established himself as Chelsea’s best player, but also one of the best in the league.
Once again the 22-year-old has been Chelsea’s main attacking threat and he’s got 14 goals and six assists in the league so far this season.
However, Palmer is currently experiencing a difficult run of form and hasn’t scored in his last eight games for the Blues, whilst he missed the first penalty of his career in the win against Leicester earlier this month.
Palmer missed Sunday’s defeat to Arsenal with an injury and the Blues are still awaiting results of a scan to find out the extent of the issue.
Chelsea sit fourth and are on track to qualify for the Champions League, although with nine games left just five points separate fourth and tenth.

The Blues will desperately hope Palmer can get back to his best in the difficult run-in, but Paul Scholes has claimed he thinks the attacker needs “challenging” more.
Former striker Ba believes the England international could benefit from Chelsea signing some experienced players to help him.
“Football is life, and there will be tough days,” he told Telecom Asia.
“But if you have an experienced figure to lean on, you can get through the storm. Palmer is in a rough patch, and although he is managing with his personality and continuing to perform, something is missing.

“He could benefit immensely from having someone who has been in that situation before to guide him. It’s all about the combination of experience and a strong personality.”
Ba isn’t wrong and Chelsea right now are lacking the right blend of youth and experience which has to be addressed this summer.
