Coundon Court and Rugby Town were among the notable winners in the regional leagues while Chesterfield Ladies and Worcester City Reserves went top for Christmas.
EAST MIDLANDS – Chesterfield Ladies retake top spot
Premier – Chesterfield Ladies had six different scorers in the 7-1 sinking of Basford United, as they went top on goal-difference. Sheffield FC slipped to second, Stacey Buxton notching a first-half treble but the match at Ilkeston Town being abandoned by half-time with the visitors leading 9-0.
1 Central – River City put eight goals past Brookside Athletic to move within four points of leaders Loughborough Foxes Vixens, with a game still in hand.
1 North – Dronfield Town’s Ruby Burns bagged a brace in their 3-0 win at Chesterfield FC, which lifted them into second position. Notts County Development are up to eighth following a 5-2 victory at fourth-placed Sherwood.
1 South – Wellingborough Town struck all four goals of the game at Thrapston Town in a seven-minute spell straddling the interval, Lauren Adams hitting a hat-trick and Rosie Betts the other. The result over the team in third put them three points clear at the top. Northampton Town Development went level on points with Thrapston after a 2-0 win at Bugbrooke St.Michael.
WEST MIDLANDS – Rugby Town rock leaders
Premier – Jessica Lundie found the net three times as Coundon Court recorded a 5-2 result over Shifnal Town, who had only needed a point to replace Lye Town as leaders.
1 North – Mid-table Rugby Town abruptly ended the perfect form of leaders Lichfield City, Kelsey Green with all the goals for the hosts who had Robyn Tothill sent off at the same time as the visitors’ Saddiqa Shan. Walsall FC won the derby with Walsall Wood 7-2 with two goal apiece for Saanya Najib, Mia Fellows and substitute Molly Cook. They are now goal-difference ahead of their neighbours and level on points with the leaders. Eccleshall are the fourth side on 15 points and they could have gone top but crashed 7-1 at Hednesford Town, whose Leigh Dugmore was on target three times.
1 South – Worcester City Reserves took over at the top from Halesowen Town with a 3-2 win against Long Itchington. Hereford Pegasus went sixth when thrashing Leamington Lions 11-01 away.
