Despite pre-season hopes that they could mount a push for the play-offs, it has been a tough start to the campaign for the Sky Blues.

Following their 3-0 defeat to Leeds United at the weekend, Mark Robins' side have now won just once in seven league games so far this season.

As a result, Coventry currently sit 21st in the early Championship standings, only outside the relegation zone on goal difference.

By contrast, Blackburn go into the game third in the current table, and are still unbeaten in the league so far this season.

However, the Sky Blues do have a good recent record on home soil against the Ewood Park club, and will no doubt be looking to extend that run again here.

They will though, have to do that without some first-team players, who are still having to deal with certain injury issues, and may therefore be unavailable for Tuesday nights game.

With that in mind, we've taken a look at the Coventry City players who could be injury doubts for Tuesday night's game with Blackburn Rovers, right here.

Jamie Allen

One player who the Sky Blues will definitely be unable to call upon come Tuesday night is Jamie Allen.

The midfielder had returned to the starting lineup for Robins' side in their 2-1 defeat to Swansea City just over a week ago.

However, he was forced off with just 25 minutes on the clock in that match, and the Coventry boss has since revealed that Allen has suffered a medial collateral ligament injury.

That is expected to keep him out of action for two to three months, meaning he will of course miss the clash with Blackburn, and may not be back in action before the turn of the year.

Raphael Borges Rodrigues

It has been a frustrating time of things for Raphael Borges Rodrigues since he made the move to the CBS Arena from MacArthur FC in Australia back in the summer transfer window.

The winger is still yet to make his first-team debut for Coventry, having been hampered by a leg injury following his arrival.

However, he could be getting close to making a first appearance of the campaign, with Robins revealing a few days ago that the 21-year-old is now training on the grass again.

Even so, it was noted that after so long out, the winger's fitness levels will still need to be assessed, meaning it is still far from certain that he will be fit to feature on Tuesday night.

One positive for Coventry from that defeat to Leeds on Saturday, was the return to action of Ben Sheaf.

The influential midfielder had played just 20 minutes over the course of the Sky Blues' last four games after an ankle problem of his own, but came through 60 minutes at Elland Road.

Speaking after the game though, Robins did note that Sheaf is "playing catch-up" with his fitness, and that while he is doing that, he may have to be used in that way.
