The Red and Greens announced the news this lunchtime via a post on their official club Twitter account.
The 27-year-old midfielder has been a free agent since leaving former club Birmingham City last summer. Whipp spent three seasons with the Blues in which she made 44 appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Super League, scoring one goal. The player helped Birmingham City to battle against relegation during her time at the club, although she was unable to prevent the Blues from dropping into the Barclays Women’s Championship at the end of last season.
Whipp started her career with Everton, another club who she represented in the top flight. The midfielder then had a stint in the United States with New York-based college side St John’s Red Storm before returning to the English game with Birmingham City in 2019.
Coventry United head coach Lee Burch has been very busy in the transfer market this month with Whipp being his fourth new addition. She follows Eleanor Ryan-Doyle, Morgan Cross and Rachel Newborough to the Butts Park Arena.
The Red and Greens return to Barclays Women’s Championship action on Sunday when they travel to The Robins High Performance Centre to face Bristol City.
