MIAMI – Cruz Azul retained its place at the top of the latest Concacaf Club Rankings (CCR) ahead of the upcoming 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup Final.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC also booked its place in the championship match, making it one of the most improved side in the Rankings.
The Concacaf Club Rankings Index grades all clubs and leagues across the confederation. Teams gain points for results in official domestic league matches, regional cup matches, and Concacaf Champions Cup play.

The top two will decide the next Champions Cup winner
Cruz Azul (1,269) remained the top team after defending its spot against formerly third place Tigres UANL (1,228), now fifth, after a 2-1 win on aggregate in the semifinals of the Concacaf Champions Cup.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC (1,240) rose to second place after defeating the formerly second ranked team Inter Miami CF (1,214), who fell seven places to ninth, in both legs of their semifinal series, 5-1 on aggregate.
The latest rankings update sets up a matchup between one and two in the CCR when the next Concacaf Champions Cup champion gets decided on June 1 at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario in Mexico City, Mexico.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC jumped from ninth to second after reaching the Champions Cup Final
Vancouver Whitecaps FC continued to move up in the rankings and is among the top movers in the region for the fourth consecutive edition. Its latest advancement in the Champions Cup moved the ‘Caps up seven spots to complete an improvement of 26 places since February.
Marquense (1,055) was the club that had the most improvement this month, with the Guatemalan side moving up eight places to 89th overall. Like the Whitecaps, fellow MLS side New England Revolution (1,170) also moved up seven spots, in their case to 28th.
Liga MX side #29 Club Tijuana (1,168) and Canadian Premier League club #76 HFX Wanderers FC (1,069) each moved up five places to round out the top five of highest movers.
Whitecaps FC provided the biggest upset with a 5-1 agg. win over Inter Miami CF in the CCC Semifinals
A matchup between the second and ninth place teams delivered the biggest upset in the Champions Cup semifinals as Vancouver Whitecaps FC won 5-1 on aggregate against Inter Miami CF.
Whitecaps FC won the first leg at home, 2-nil, with goals from Brian White and Sebastian Berhalter. White and Berhalter, along with Pedro Vite, scored in the second leg to win 3-1 in Florida.
