Crystal Palace sign former Leicester City midfielder Green | OneFootball

Crystal Palace have completed the signing of former Leicester City midfielder Josie Green on a free transfer.

The Eagles announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

The 31-year-old Welsh international midfielder joins Crystal Palace after leaving former club Leicester City at the end of last season. Green spent two seasons with The Foxes in which she made 31 appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Super League, scoring one goal.

Prior to her time with Leicester City, Green enjoyed a lengthy spell with Tottenham Hotspur. The player was a Barclays Women’s Championship promotion-winner with Spurs in 2018/2019 while she spent three seasons helping the club to establish themselves in the top tier.

Green will now be hoping to use all of her experience to help Crystal Palace to cement their place in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

After joining Crystal Palace, Green said “I’m super-excited to start and get going with all the girls.

“You can see that Palace are really building as a club and pushing the women’s game forward, and I am so excited to be a part of it.”

Green is Crystal Palace’s ninth signing of the summer transfer window.
