Chelsea have found out how much it will cost to sign transfer target Benjamin Sesko this summer with Florian Plettenberg revealing the striker’s release clause.
The Blues opted against signing a striker in January, despite the need for an alternative to Nicolas Jackson and paid the ultimate price when the both the 23-year-old and Marc Guiu got injured against West Ham on deadline day.
Enzo Maresca has deployed Pedro Neto down the middle for the last two games, with the Portuguese returning two goals and an assist in his new role.
David Ornstein believes the Blues will sign a striker this summer, and they are said to be leading the race for Ipswich star Liam Delap.
Chelsea are said to have given fresh consideration to Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting Lisbon, with it thought the Sweden international could be available for less than his €100m release clause.
Another name on Chelsea’s list is RB Leipzig’s Sesko, who the Blues are said to be keeping a close eye on, and the Slovenian international almost made the switch to the Premier League last summer.

Plettenberg has provided an update on the Slovenian international and interested clubs now know what it will take to prize him away.
He took to X.com and said:
“EXCL | Until now, there had only been talk of a verbal agreement, but Benjamin #Sesko has a formally fixed release clause in his contract until 2029.
“This clause can be activated starting this summer. It is tied to various parameters – such as games played, goals, and assists – and increases regularly.
