As AC Milan fell to yet another defeat in what has so far been a troubled season, the Curva Sud and travelling fans let the team know their thoughts.
Milan were beaten 2-1 by Bologna at the Stadio Renato dall’Ara and perhaps saw their slim top four hopes definitively ended. They are now eight points off Juventus in the final Champions League place, and with the same amount of games played.
As MilanNews report, the protests from the Curva Sud ‘exploded’ again and loudly at the end of the match, sparing no one. The chant ‘Cardinale, you have to sell! Go away!’ was actually sung before the game as well as at full-time.
Then, they moved on to the players: “You are a sh*t team, you’ve p*ssed us off” and “Go to work” could be heard from the travelling fans, clearly unhappy with what they perceive to be a lack of effort and results.
Before the match, the Sud had displayed an emblematic banner on its balustrade: “Solo per la maglia (Only for the shirt)” which already made clear the mood of the fans, present in large numbers also in Bologna.
Then, the Curva Sud Milano instead published a very clear message on Instagram: ‘Unworthy!’. It would be fair to say that things have reached boiling point again just like they did back in December.
