Dan Friedkin rivals Lyon owner John Textor’s Everton takeover bid | OneFootball

According to a report by Bloomberg, AS Roma’s owner Dan Friedkin is in advanced talks with Everton FC owner Farhad Moshiri as his investment group is looking to take over the club. However, representatives from Everton and the Friedkin Group have reportedly declined to comment on the story.

Friedkin’s bid would put him in direct competition with fellow American businessman John Textor. Textor, who also owns Olympique Lyonnais and Botafogo, had been reported to be interested in becoming the majority owner of Everton.

However, a deal for him to take over the club looked as if it had some significant complications. Textor already has shares in Premier League club Crystal Palace and would be prevented from buying Everton until he could sell his stake in the London team.

Friedkin Group held previous interest in taking over Everton

Friedkin had previously held exclusive talks with Everton in July before announcing that they would not be proceeding with their proposed takeover.
