Coventry City will be looking to bounce back from their recent defeat to Norwich City when they host Huddersfield Town in the Championship on Saturday.
The Canaries proved to be too strong for the Sky Blues last weekend as David Wagner’s side sealed a 4-2 victory on their travels.
Ahead of Coventry’s showdown with Huddersfield, they have been linked with a move for a Norwich player.
According to Football Insider, the Sky Blues are interested in signing Danel Sinani on a permanent deal from the Canaries.
It is understood that Birmingham City are also keeping tabs on Sinani ahead of a potential swoop.
Here, we have decided to take a look at whether this would be a good signing for Coventry while also assessing Sinani’s chances of starting for the club in the Championship…
Is it a good potential move?
This could be a good bit of business by Coventry if they are able to secure Sinani’s services for a reasonable fee.
Norwich may be willing to lower their asking price at this stage of the transfer window due to the fact that the 25-year-old’s contract is set to expire in the summer.
Sinani could end up hitting the ground running for Coventry due to the fact that he has featured on 55 occasions in this division during his career.
Particularly impressive during his loan spell at Huddersfield Town last season, the winger helped his side reach the play-off final by providing 11 direct goal contributions in 42 appearances.
By replicating these performances in a Coventry shirt, Sinani could go on to become a key player for the club in future seasons.
Would he start?
When you consider that Mark Robins has opted to utilise wing-backs on a regular basis this season, Sinani would have to adapt to this particular role in order to secure a place in Coventry’s starting eleven.
Fankaty Dabo and Brooke Norton-Cuffy have been deployed on the right-hand side of the pitch by the Sky Blues in the current campaign while Jake Bidwell has featured on the left.
Sinani is capable of playing in an advanced central role and thus could help to fill the void left by Callum O’Hare in this position.
O’Hare was ruled out for the remainder of the season last month due to a knee injury.

What does he offer?
During his time with Huddersfield, Sinani managed to show that he can be composed while in possession of the ball as he recorded a respectable pass success rate of 81.3% in the Championship (as per WhoScored).
Certainly not afraid of testing out opposition goalkeepers, the Luxembourg international has averaged 1.1 shots per game in a Norwich shirt this season.
In terms of his creativity, Sinani has managed to provide 54 assists at senior level during his career and will be keen to add to this tally if he makes the move to the Coventry Building Society Arena.
