By winning the Coupe de la Ligue on Saturday evening, Dani Alves has become the most successful player in the history of football.
The Brazil international was part of Les Parisiens’ starting XI for their 3-0 victory over Monaco yesterday evening, and in the process picked up his 37th trophy as a player.
The 34-year-old has overtaken former team-mate Maxwell, who was the previous record-holder with 36 titles.
The majority of Alves’ trophies came during his eight year spell at Barcelona – where he picked up an amazing 23 titles, including three Champions Leagues and six La Ligas.
