Darnell Furlong has taken to Instagram to share a message with West Bromwich Albion’s supporters following the club’s latest display in the Championship.
The Baggies defender helped his side seal all three points in their showdown with Peterborough United by producing a promising display in this fixture.
Despite having 63% of the ball at The Hawthorns, West Brom were unable to break down their opponents until the 78th minute of the clash.
Furlong’s goal-bound effort was diverted into the back of the net by Cedric Kipre from close range.
Karlan Grant doubled West Brom’s advantage before Grady Diangana scored his second-goal of the season in the closing stages of the game.
As a result of this triumph, the Baggies closed the gap between them and the automatic promotion places in the Championship to four points.
Reflecting on his side’s latest display on Instagram, Furlong admitted that he hoped the club’s supporters enjoyed this victory as much as he and his team-mates did.
The forward posted a picture of himself in action during this clash with the caption: “Hope you all enjoyed that one as much as we did!
“Work to do.”

The Verdict
Although it did take West Brom a considerable amount of time to break down Peterborough at the weekend, they managed to secure a crucial win which keeps them in contention for a top-two finish in the Championship.
In order to have the best chance of achieving an immediate return to the Premier League later this year, the Baggies will need to pick up points on a regular basis in the coming months.
With his side set to face Preston North End at The Hawthorns on Wednesday, Furlong ought to be brimming with confidence heading into this fixture.
The right-back produced five key passes against Posh whilst he also won aerial duels as he recorded a WhoScored match rating of 7.81.
By replicating this display against the Lilywhites, Furlong could help his side pick up another morale-boosting victory in-front of their supporters.
