David de Gea and Fred have sent messages to Antony on Instagram after the winger left Manchester United on loan in the January transfer window.

Antony has joined Real Betis on a loan deal from Premier League giants United.

According to Sky Sports, it is a straight loan, with the Red Devils recovering a minimum of 84 per cent of his salary plus bonuses.

Antony has posted a message on Instagram after he made the move to Betis on a temporary deal.

The 24-year-old Brazil international winger wrote, as translated from Portuguese: “Intense day! Made a new story @realbetisbalompie 🇪🇸🇧🇷”

Former United teammates De Gea and Fred have responded to Antony’s messages.

While Spanish goalkeeper De Gea is now on the books of Serie A club Fiorentina, Brazil international midfielder Fred is playing for Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahce.

Fred wrote: “Best of luck on the walk brother! To the topttt 🙏🏾”

De Gea wrote: “Good luck friend 💪🏼”

Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison wrote: “God Bless You Bro!!!”

View: Antony will never play for Manchester United again

While the move to Betis is only a loan deal and Antony is scheduled to return to Old Trafford at the end of the season, it is hard to see the winger ever playing for United again.

The Brazil international is under contract at United until the summer of 2027, and it is very likely that the Red Devils will try to sell him in the summer of 2025.

Antony has been a huge disappointment at United. The winger has failed to do much of note.

In 96 appearances for the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners, Antony has scored just 12 goals and given only five assists.

It was dire for Antony this season. The 24-year-old scored one goal in 14 matches in all competitions for United before they decided to offload him on loan to Betis.
