David de Gea is expected to make his Serie A debut after the international break, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The former Manchester United star already made his debut with the Tuscans, helping his new club qualify for the league phase of the Conference League,
However, he hasn’t yet played in Serie A, having seen his teammate Pietro Terracciano start three games from three against Parma, Venezia, and Monza.
De Gea’s wait for his first Serie A appearance seems over as, according to Friday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport on page 28, the Spaniard will start for Fiorentina against Atalanta after the international break.
Raffaele Palladino said last week that he would use the break to assess his options in goal, and Gazzetta claims that he will pick de Gea for the next league match.
Fiorentina are still winless in Serie A this season, having collected just three points so far and conceding three goals.
