Charles De Ketelaere has stated that he would rather people stop asking him about his time at AC Milan and what didn’t work, given that he is now shining with Atalanta.

De Ketelaere was Milan’s marquee signing in the summer window that followed the 2021-22 Scudetto win, but he never really hit the ground running and struggled to find form, eventually losing his starting spot.

A loan to Atalanta followed where he amassed 50 games, 14 goals and 11 assists, which meant that they obviously wished to keep him beyond that season. Although he has not joined permanently just yet, he did return to Bergamo this summer on a loan with obligation to buy deal.

The Belgian has done an interview with Tuttosport which was published this morning, and he was asked about what changed for him with La Dea compared to at Milan.

“I don’t know, but it happened a long time ago now, we have to stop talking about the Rossoneri. Will I go to Inter or Juventus in the future? I just signed for Atalanta and I’m focused on my team. I want to do as I did last year and continue to achieve the team’s objectives,” he said (via MilanNews).

“Can we say that Atalanta can fight for the Scudetto? I don’t know, I want to win many games, every game in fact. Then we’ll see where we get to. Should we think about getting to the Champions League? Yes, yes, this must always be our objective.”
