Although reinforcing the attack will be the main priority of FC Barcelona in the upcoming summer transfer window, the Blaugranes will also ideally want to strengthen some areas of the team as well.

Among the positions that Hansi Flick wants to get more depth are the two flanks, where Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde are fixed starters this season, but their replacements, Gerard Martin and Hector Fort, are rather inexperienced at the highest level.

Several players have been linked with the Catalan side for the two fullback positions, but according to SPORT, one of the most desired candidates for Deco in this regard is the Brazilian Vanderson, who currently plays for Monaco.

In fact, the report from SPORT claims that the former Portuguese midfielder would have brought the fullback to Barcelona back in 2022, if it were completely up to him, when he was still only an external advisor to Joan Laporta and had his own representation agency and when the player was shining at Gremio.

As was the case at that time, Deco still believes that Vanderson is particularly suited to the Blaugrana way of playing, with his offensive abilities, good footwork, and explosiveness. However, Monaco were quicker and signed the Brazilian, who has continued to grow at the Ligue 1 side since that move.

Now, the Portuguese official will try to sign him again this summer, and Barcelona have already started doing the behind-the-scenes work to pave the way for his signing.
