Brendan also said that Kyogo expressed a desire to leave the club months ago, and if we are truthful to ourselves we all knew that deep down.
It was quite obvious that he wasn’t his usual bubbly self as he wasn’t producing the form we all know he’s capable of. Although to his credit he didn’t mope or down tools like some footballers in the modern game, and he still put in the effort, but you could still sense that something was playing on his mind.

Whether that’s due to him feeling he doesn’t fit into Brendan’s system, a claim that was often made last season, or he wants to experience a different culture and style of football is totally his prerogative.
Having recently turned 30, his next contract will most likely be his last big one, and you can’t blame him for thinking ahead and securing his long term future.
Kyogo owes us nothing as he’s contributed massively to our success in the past few years, and fully deserves to move on with nothing but our best wishes.
