Spurs star Dejan Kulusevski praised the “beautiful” atmosphere created by the fans during his side’s 3-1 win over Bodo/Glimt – and insists he and his team-mates will be ready to play on their plastic pitch in the second leg.
Goals from Brennan Johnson, James Maddison and Dominic Solanke from the penalty spot ensured Tottenham take a lead to Norway in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final.
But they will have to be prepared for the challenge of playing on an artificial surface in Norway – something Kulusevski says his side will prepare for ahead of the game.
Asked if the team will prepare especially for that, he said: “Yeah, probably.
“It’s good for me at least, I’ve been playing in Sweden so I should be prepared.
“It’s different. It’s a different pitch but in life you have to do what you have to do to find a way to win and we have to do that.”
Spurs’ only chance of securing European football for next season is by winning the Europa League, which would see them enter next year’s Champions League, having endured a dismal domestic campaign which sees them sit 16th in the Premier League table.
And Kulusevski says his side have put themselves in a great position ahead of the trip to Norway.
He said: “I think so. We’re happy with a 3-1 win, it feels good to be winning an important game like this so it’s perfect.”
The Swedish attacker also hailed the Tottenham supporters for their role in the win.
“It was beautiful,” he said. “It was really beautiful and hopefully it will be like this every game.
“It was unbelievable, the energy was there. Then we got to 2-0 and we always want to score more goals.
“I think we played good. I think this season has been really disappointing but at least let’s finish in the best possible way and we have to do everything possible every day to make it happen.”
