DeJuan Jones is officially a member of the Columbus Crew and he wasted no time opening his account after making his debut for the reigning MLS Cup champions this evening in the Crew's Leagues Cup knockout clash with Sporting KC.
The crafty full-back joined the champs in a trade with New England just last week, and it's safe to say that Jones is already making an impact for his new club.
While the Crew were already 2-0 to the good, Jones came on in the 76th minute for his debut in front of a full-house at Lower.com Field. Only 30 seconds later, the former Revs man found the back of the net, finishing off a lovely one-two to all but put the game to bed.
That goal is the fastest for a debut player in Columbus Crew history in all competitions, a moment that Jones and the fans won't forget anytime soon.
After a handful of solid pickups this summer, Wilfried Nancy's side look well on their way to another historic season.
