Diego Costa tests positive for Covid-19

Atlético Madrid have confirmed that Diego Costa and Santiago Arias have both tested positive for Covid-19.

Aside from the players who are currently on international duty, the entire Atleti squad underwent PCR testing at the club’s training ground on Thursday.

Every player tested negative with the exception of Costa and Arias, who were both tested separately after holidaying outside Madrid and have already begun quarantining.

Both players are asymptomatic but the club have confirmed they will follow the necessary quarantine requirements and not be part of the group which begins pre-season training on 4 September.
