Vladimir Coufal admits that West Ham‘s performances have simply not been good enough this season.
Julen Lopetegui‘s side fell to a 4-1 loss to Manchester City at the weekend, meaning the team have now shipped in 9 goals in the last 2 matches. We are now in fact on course for our worst ever defensive record in the Premier League.
“Defensively it’s disappointing,” Coufal told the clubsOfficial Website. “But we defend as a team and attack as a team, and overall we know we can do better. It’s a bit tough to take at the moment,”
Pressure is significantly mounting on not only the team and Head Coach, but the club too, who many are calling for to act and replace Lopetegui, with Graham Potter understood ready to step in.
Coufal though has tried to rally the team, saying its time they start performing at the levels expected, which many fans will no doubt see as much of what has been said throughout the very disappointing season.
“It’s a difficult moment for us, and we need to start playing our football again and getting back to the levels we know we’re capable of,” added Coufal.
“That starts back at the training ground straightaway, and we’ll do everything we can to bounce back on the pitch in our next game.”
