While it was previously reported that FC Utrecht could swoop for their former striker Sebastien Haller (30), Croatian outlet Germanijak have reported that Dinamo Zagreb are also ready to compete for the Ivorian international.

The former Domstedelingen and Ajax forward Haller is currently on loan at LaLiga side Leganes from Borussia Dortmund, yet has struggled to the hit form of previous seasons. This term he has played nine games without scoring in Spain.

In the case of Croatia’s capital club and the BVB-wantaway, there seem to be two parties that are looking to recapture previous greatness. Head coach Nenad Bjelica was sacked as Zagreb’s title defence faltered this term, with both Rijeka and Hajduk Split ahead of them in the table.

Under the new stewardship of Italian legend Fabio Cannavaro, there is work to do if they’re to compete with the top clubs and recruitment is high on the list of to-dos.

With the January window imminent, and Haller in need of restarting his career after falling out of favour at Signal Iduna Park, this could be an intriguing match if Utrecht fail to woo the striker.
