The Rams had been on the lookout for a new boss after parting ways with Paul Warne and quickly identified Eustace as their top target.

After several days of negotiations, a deal has now been reached for him to take over, with Blackburn voicing their displeasure at the way the situation has unfolded.

Blackburn do currently occupy the play-off positions, while Derby are embroiled in a tense relegation battle, sitting outside the relegation places on goal difference.

Eustace will have a swift reunion with his former employers, who are set to visit Pride Park early next month.
