Atalanta have signed Parma youngster Valentin Mihaila in a loan deal with the option to buy.
Atalanta will pay €10m including add-ons to buy the player permanently.
The 21-year-old Mihaila has scored two goals in 13 Serie B appearances for Parma this season.
La Dea said in a statement:
“Atalanta BC announces the signing of Valentin Mihăilă from Parma on loan with an option to make the deal permanent," the club statement read.
“Born on the 2nd of February 2000, Valentin is considered to be one of the most interesting young athletes in Romanian football. He is a quick forward with great technique, who can cover several positions offensively. He began his professional career at Universitatea Craiova, where he made his debut when still seventeen and appeared in over 70 matches at the age of just twenty. After a year in which he contributed nine goals and six assists, he was signed by Parma in October 2020 and ended his first season in Italy with 4 goals in 17 appearances overall: he scored his first 'Italian' goal in the Coppa Italia round of 16 against Lazio, which was followed by goals in Serie A against Fiorentina, Roma and Crotone.
“He made his debut with the Romania national team in March 2021, scoring a goal in the 3-2 victory over North Macedonia in a match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Previously, he had stood out with both the Under-19 team (6 goals in as many European qualifying matches) and the Under-21 team (5 goals in six European qualifying matches, including a hat-trick against Finland).
“Welcome, Valentin!"
