La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Wednesday reached an agreement over the big-money signing of a new defender.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Dean Huijsen as the player in question.

The name of youngster Huijsen has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital across the day to date.

This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the Real Madrid board had stepped up their pursuit of the Bournemouth prodigy.

Amid a search for much-needed reinforcements in central defence, Los Blancos, and incoming manager Xabi Alonso, earmarked Huijsen as the ideal profile.

With hopes of landing the 20-year-old before the upcoming Club World Cup, Florentino Pérez and co. therefore moved decisively to close a deal for Huijsen on Wednesday.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish press is anything to go by, Real Madrid appear to have gotten their man.

As per a report from Marca:

‘The agreement for the signing of Dean Huijsen by Real Madrid is a done deal. The clubs are already exchanging documents, and only the timeline for the official signing needs to be finalized. The signing should not be officially declared complete until everything is signed, but the deal is done.’

Real Madrid will pay the entirety of Huijsen’s €58 million release clause, owed to Bournemouth in three separate instalments.
