David Moyes has done an incredible job upon his return as the Goodison boss. Everton have not lost in the the Premier League since the Scotsman’s first game in charge against Aston Villa more than a month ago. While the streak continued against Manchester United, the Toffees would be downhearted to give up a two-goal lead late in the contest.

Jordan Pickford: 6

Could have done little to stop Bruno Fernandes’ emphatic free-kick and Manuel Ugarte’s stellar long-range strike. Made a massive save in the closing minutes to deny Fernandes’ long-range effort.

Jake O’Brien: 6.5

Was solid defensively but his lack of involvement in the attacking third allowed United to dominate the show while chasing for the equalizer.

James Tarkowski: 6

Dominated the duels against Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Joshua Zirkze. However, the late pressure from the visitors, particularly Alejandro Garnacho’s footwork and swift movements troubled him in the heart of the backline.

Looked solid in deep defence with timely tackles. Showed his physical presence and aerial supremacy while engaging in challenges and duels.

Vitaliy Mykolenko: 6.5

Played a few long balls and crosses from the left-hand flank. Linked up well with Jack Harrison with occasional overlapping runs, and also refrained the visitors from causing enough menace from his side.

James Garner: 7

Was solid in the centre of the pitch, particularly against Casemiro who lacked the pace and energy. Struggled against Ruben Amorim’s strategic alteration and was taken off for Tim Iroegbunam late in the match.

Idrissa Gana Gueye: 7.5

Used his experience to be in the right place at the right time while making recoveries and winning duels. Won the most number of tackles in the centre of the pitch as the veteran Senegalese not only marshalled the backline but also helped his attacking transitions with first-time passing.

Jesper Lindstrom: 6.5

Was lively down the right-hand flank with his crosses and dribbling attempts. But his deliveries lacked the end product on many occasions. Was replaced by Ashley Young early into the second half following a knock.

Abdoulaye Doucoure: 8.5

Another inspiring performance from the midfield attacker who set it up for Beto early into the game before doubling the lead just over the hour-mark. Forced Andre Onana to make a massive save midway through the second half. Was replaced by Carlos Alcaraz late into the contest.

Jack Harrison: 7

Played his part in the build-up of Doucoure’s goal as his initial strike was not dealt with conviction by Onana before the Malian’s finish.

Stretched his exquisite scoring streak as he has now netted in each of his last four Premier League appearances. Did not have many touches but was a constant threat high up the pitch with his directness and poaching traits.
