“I’m very happy to be back with the team after such a long time. The truth is that I’ve been dreaming about this moment for many months and I’m grateful to my teammates because they’ve made everything easier for me,” he said.
Gavi expressed his gratitude to his teammates for their unwavering support throughout his rehabilitation period. Their encouragement, he revealed, played a vital role in helping him push through the difficult months of recovery.
Being away from the game for so long gave Gavi a new perspective on the sport he loves. Watching his team from the sidelines was a tough experience, as he longed to be part of the action.
“The worst thing has been not being with the team. Watching your team from the outside, every game is very hard.”
He now values every moment on the pitch more than ever before, understanding the importance of not taking anything for granted. His journey back has also taught him to appreciate the support he receives from both his teammates and the fans.
“You have to enjoy every moment and value things. That is something I have also learned and I feel very lucky to be here today,” he noted.

One touching moment during the match came when Pedri handed the captain’s armband to Gavi, a gesture that carried significant meaning for him.
Gavi spoke warmly about the bond he shares with Pedri and expressed his appreciation for the gesture. Wearing the captain’s armband for Barcelona is a dream for Gavi, and he was honoured to be able to pass it on to a friend and fellow player.
“It couldn’t be better. I thank Pedri for the gesture that the fans have always shown me because they have shown their love for me and the least I will do is show it to them.
“A Barça player always wants to wear the armband of this club and it is one of my dreams,” he said.
Now that he’s back in action, Gavi is eager to contribute to Barcelona’s future successes. He seems ready to give his all in the matches ahead, aiming to add his own contribution to Barcelona’s continued success on the pitch.
