The January transfer window is sailing along at quite the pace, especially in the Netherlands. Read on as we round up a number of this week’s moves with the end of the transfer period in sight.
Swedish centre-back Hjalmar Ekdal (26) has joined Groningen on loan from EFL Championship club Burnley. The seven-time Swedish international will play the rest of the season for the Pride of the North and will don the number four. As he comes into the club, striker Kristian Lien (23) exits on loan to Norwegian Hamarkameratene Fotball.
SC Heerenveen have presented their new forward Milos Lukovic (19). He joins on loan from Strasbourg for the rest of the season.
Dordrecht have acquired Marouane Afaker (25) from IJsselmeervogels. The attacker, who has excelled this season with seven goals and eleven assists in nineteen matches, has proven himself to be a crucial force for the Third Division leaders. He joins a side looking for a top-four finish in the Eerste Divisie.
Sergi Rosanas (22), whose contract with Sparta Rotterdam was terminated, has found shelter in his home country at AE Prat. The Spanish full-back hardly featured in Rotterdam and has signed a contract with his new club until the end of this season.
In the second tier, Pepijn Doesburg (24) has swapped VVV-Venlo for AS Trencín in Slovakia. Defender Jop van der Avert (24) has left Dordrecht for South Korean club Chungbuk Cheongju FC. He follows fellow Keuken Kampioen Divisie man Thomas Oude Kotte (28) from Roda JC. The latter is joining FC Anyang.
