Ariel Lassiter was the first to go marching after seemingly elbowing Jose Martinez in the face just before the break.

Philadelphia’s man advantage, however, wouldn’t last long.

Jack Elliott was sent off 15 minutes after the restart following a studs-up challenge on Raheem Edwards.

Elsewhere, another Canadian team was involved in heated altercations.

Toronto FC were cruising against D.C. United but fell apart in the final 15 minutes.

Federico Bernardeschi was sent off with a second yellow after punting the ball into the stands in the 87th-minute.

A mere five minutes later, Toronto went down to nine when Nicksoen Gomis also earned a second yellow card.

His decision resulted in the subsequent 95th-minute equaliser from the penalty spot at the hands of Mateusz Klich.
