Eddie Howe and the players hoping to follow this latest international break with a big win.

Three points on Saturday would really set United up, ensuring they end the weekend in the top six, potentially as high as top four if other results go their way.

Eddie Howe Brighton press conference on Friday morning:

Eddie Howe on the upcoming run of games, starting with Brighton at home:

“There are some tough games in there, great challenges for us.

“The group of games we have to come; three at home and some tough away games.

“We haven’t hit top gear, but we have been resilient and hard to beat, but we do need to find our best form to get some good results from these matches.”

Internationals returning:

“(Ahead of Friday) The only player we haven’t seen as of yet is Miguel Almiron.

“He was flying yesterday (Thursday) so we anticipate we’ll see him this morning.

“Everyone else is good and they’ve come back in good fettle.”

Eddie Howe on Sven Botman:

“He is hitting the right strength markers, he is looking really good.

“We probably won’t see him training until after the next (November) international break.

“He is closing in but it’s a long road.

“The reality is we’re probably looking more towards Christmas time (for his playing return).”

Eddie Howe on Alexander Isak:

“Alex has trained and trained well, he trained at the start of this week and looked good.

“He will be in contention for the weekend (against Brighton).”

Eddie Howe on Lewis Miley:

“He has been back training during the break.

“He has looked really good, looks like he has not been away.

“It has been great to see.

“We will re-introduce him at the right time, he will have some competition, he is coming back into a great environment.”

Eddie Howe on Kieran Trippier:

“Kieran has picked up a hamstring problem.

“It’s probably nothing too serious, but it will keep him out for a few weeks.”

Eddie Howe on Callum Wilson:

“Callum has trained, but we will continue to assess it day-by-day.

“We need to make sure it is the right time when we re-enter him into the group.

“When we get him back, we want to get him back for a long time, so it is important we make the right call.”
