Leeds United welcome local side Harrogate Town to Elland Road in the Third Round of the Emirates FA Cup, with action from Elland Road getting underway at 5:45pm.
Top of the Sky Bet Championship, the Whites are unbeaten in their last 10 fixtures on home soil, winning nine of those clashes, in an impressive run stretching back to September.
As attentions now turn to the Emirates FA Cup, Daniel Farke’s side will be keen to respond after being held to a frustrating draw last time out in the league away at Hull City.
United have illustrious history in the prestigious competition, having won the centenary edition of the tournament, thanks to Allan Clarke’s famous winner against Arsenal in the 1972 final.
Last season, Leeds reached the Fifth Round where, despite a strong performance at Stamford Bridge, they bowed out after a narrow defeat to Chelsea.
A memorable strike from Patrick Bamford and brace from Ethan Ampadu kicked off the run with victory over Peterborough, before a replay win against Plymouth Argyle set up the meeting in West London.
The tie marks just the second time Harrogate Town have ever reached this stage of the competition, with their only previous Third Round bout coming in 2022 where they lost out to Luton Town.
In Sky Bet League Two, Simon Weaver’s side find themselves 21st in the standings, though an impressive 2-0 victory over Barrow away from home last time out helped the Sulphurites maintain a five-point cushion over the drop zone.
Having been at the helm at Wetherby Road since 2009, Weaver is the longest-standing manager in England’s top four divisions and has overseen the team’s rise from the National League North to the Football League.
The two clubs met in pre-season ahead of the current campaign, where goals from Junior Firpo and youngster Sam Chambers helped the Whites to a convincing win in July, but this tie will be the first competitive meeting between the sides.
