Empoli Inform Inter Milan They Plan To Sign Italy U21 Star Next Summer | OneFootball

Empoli have already made clear to Inter Milan that they plan to sign striker Sebastiano Esposito permanently at the end of the season.

This according to Italian outlet FCInterNews. They report that the Tuscan club will activate a purchase option to sign the 22-year-old for €5 million plus a sell-on fee, as long as they stay in Serie A.

For the time being, Esposito is technically still an Inter player. He is on loan at Empoli from the Nerazzurri, having joined in the summer.

And the Inter striker has enjoyed his time at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.

So far this season, Esposito has scored five goals in Serie A. In addition, he was the hero as Empoli eliminated derby rivals Fiorentina from the Coppa Italia.

Esposito has been out on loan to a number of clubs over the past few seasons.

The Italian under-21 international has turned out for the likes of SPAL, Venezia, Basel, Anderlecht, Bari, and Sampdoria.

But now that he has finally started playing regularly in Serie A, Esposito has really found his form.

And Empoli certainly have every intention of signing the 22-year-old striker on a permanent basis from Inter.

As part of Esposito’s loan deal, Empoli can sign him for a fee of €5 million.

In addition, the Tuscans would owe Inter a sell-on fee equivalent to 20% of the fee they receive for Esposito, minus the €5 million they would pay the Nerazzurri to sign Esposito.

So in other words, if Empoli were to sign Esposito and then sell him for €20 million, they would then have to pay Inter 20% of €15 million.

And according to FCIN, Empoli are more than happy with these conditions.

The Tuscans have already informed both Inter, and Esposito’s representatives, that they plan to take advantage of that clause.

The only thing that could make things more complicated would be if Empoli were to be relegated.

So far this season, however, that doesn’t look to be overly likely.
