Bethany England has claimed the HSBC Player of the Match award after her injury-time equaliser earned a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

Netting her first goal of the 2024/25 campaign - her 75th in the Barclays Women’s Super League - our captain came top of our Player of the Match poll hosted exclusively on our Official App.

Coming on as an early second half substitute, replacing Jess Naz on 55 minutes, England has stepped up numerous occasions with significant goals in her Spurs career and she provided another important moment in our first away game of the season.

Two goals in a 10-minute spell saw the home side turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead in the closing stages of the game but, in the sixth-minute of injury-time, Amanda Nildén’s cross found our number nine at the front post and she showed composure to head home to secure a point at Villa Park.
