England defender Eric Dier has given his views on the alcohol ban during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
FIFA have announced alcohol bans in their stadiums for the World Cup only days before the start of the tournament, as alcohol can only be allowed inside specific areas of stadiums.
England’s Dier has given his views about the alcohol ban ahead of the start of the tournament and the defender doesn’t believe that fans can’t enjoy without alcohol during World Cup matches.
The Tottenham man told BBC Sport: “I’d like to think you can enjoy yourself with or without alcohol,” Dier said on Saturday.
“It’s up to us as a team and every team in the tournament to bring great football, exciting football and that’s what is going to create a great atmosphere in the stadiums.”
Qatar take on Ecuador in the World Cup opener on Sunday, but Dier’s England take on Iran in the Three Lions’ first game of the tournament. Dier is expected to be a regular for Gareth Southgate’s side.
