Epic Goal Drought – Inter Milan Lose Three Matches On Trot Without Scoting A Goal For First Time Since 2012

Inter Milan have lost three straight matches without scoring for the first time in over ten years, against Bologna, AC Milan, and Roma.
This is highlighted by Italian outlet FCInterNews. They also note that the coach for the Nerazzurri in 2012 when they went on that run was none other than Claudio Ranieri.
Inter Milan have had an absolutely torrid week.
The Nerazzurri have lost three matches out of their last three.
After a huge draw against Bayern Munich in the Champions League to secure a place on the semifinals, Inter have simply run out of has.
Successive defeats to Bologna and Roma in Serie A have given Napoli the advantage in the title race.
And a humbling defeat against Milan in the Coppa Italia decisively quashed Inter’s title dreams.

Worst of all has been the fact that Inter have not scored even one goal in their last 270 minutes of football.
The Nerazzurri have lacked cutting edge in the final third. The absence of striker Marcus Thuram certainly hasn’t helped.
And so Inter have lost three matches in all competitions without scoring.
The last time that that happened was in 2012, well over a decade ago.
And it was none other than Claudio Ranieri who was on the bench for the Nerazzurri during that sequence.
Ironically, Ranieri was the coach who sealed this current streak, with his Roma team’s impressive defensive performance yesterday.
