Utrecht followed up a 7th place finish in 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 with another in 2023/2024. The side did still miss out on European football however, losing to Go Ahead Eagles in the final of the European Play Offs despite having home advantage. Ron Jans remains in charge for the upcoming season after a decent campaign last year, but he is now entering the final year of his contract.

Last season’s position: 7th

Overview: One of Utrecht’s main targets in the summer was to bring Sam Lammers back to the side. Unfortunately, they were unable to do so, with the striker joining FC Twente instead. They have brought in David Min, who had a decent season for Waalwijk last year, as well as Noah Ohio who has shown promise during his career so far.

Ryan Flamingo will certainly be a loss, but the side did make good money from his sale and a handful of other moves. In place of Jeppe Okkels Utrecht fans will be hoping that Cathline can bring some quality to the wide arears. There is definitely a side three that is capable of making the European play offs at a minimum. they did get off to a good start in week one with a 1-0 win over PEC Zwolle.
