Athletic Club Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde previewed tomorrow night’s showdown with Roma.
The Spanish technician addressed the media after his team landed in Rome earlier today.
“When we first came here this season Roma had just changed coach. When a team changes leadership there are differences and unknowns.”
“Now they have an experienced coach, Ranieri. He’s a coach who has worked with this team for months and has achieved good results.”
“They were a dangerous opponent before, now with Ranieri they are even more so. It will be complicated.”
“Sancet? Yesterday he trained partly with the group. We will evaluate him in the finishing touches and understand how he is tomorrow to make an assessment.”
“Both teams are going through a good moment. They have quality players and what differentiates us is that we have not been in Europe, they have played two finals and won a title.”
“Ranieri? I admire him a lot. He transmits energy to the team and is a reference for every coach, wherever he has coached. We have met several times and I appreciate him from a professional and personal point of view.”
“No one can predict tomorrow’s result, we don’t know how the game will go. We can’t speculate on a draw, but we have to go out on the pitch to play our game and get the best result.”
