The recently held Copa del Rey final between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid generated a lot of excitement among the fans of both sides.
In addition to being a chance to lift a major trophy, this match-up also provided both teams with an opportunity to sour the season of their direct rivals by taking away the trophy from them at the last stage.
Ultimately, the Blaugranes got the better of the Merengues, getting both the silverware and bragging rights after a hard-fought match.
But before the game, the position of one individual in particular would have been quite interesting, i.e., Mounir Nasraoui, the father of Lamine Yamal, who is known to be a Real Madrid fan.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, Nasraoui cleared up his position as he appeared in an interview after the Catalans won the final. Yamal’s father was quite clear about which is closer to his heart now:
“Even if I used to be a Madrid fan, I don’t care! Barça is the one that puts food on my table.”
To everyone’s surprise, he started the interview in Catalan. When asked about it, this was his response:
“How could I not speak Catalan? I’ve been going to school here since preschool (P3).”
Furthermore, Mounir Nasraoui went on to reveal how he had the premonition that his son was going to be a great footballer right when he was born:
“When Lamine was born, the very first second I held him, I told him: you’re going to be the best player in the world.”

His prophecy is getting nearer to realisation with every passing day, as Yamal goes on to prove his talents on the pitch. The youngster was once again key for his side in the Copa final, as he provided two assists and thus played a crucial role in getting the win.
Hopefully, Lamine Yamal will continue performing at this level in the months and years to come and ultimately prove his father correct by winning the Ballon d’Or someday.
