In a recent report, Sky Deutschland mentioned that Everton have set their sights on Red Bull Leipzig midfielder Tom Krauß who had a decent loan spell at Schalke this season. It has been revealed that the Toffees are hoping to sign the German sensation during the summer transfer period.

Krauß’s Impressive Run Of Form In German Football

Krauß enjoyed a decent loan spell at Schalke this season and managed to put in a few solid performances for them at the centre of the park. The 21-year-old has scored two goals in 33 matches for the German outfit during this campaign in various competitions.

The German talent has anchored the midfield with conviction based on his average of 3.5 tackles, 1.1 interceptions and 1.1 clearances per game in the Bundesliga. However, he has to find a way to improve his ball distribution from midfield after making just 73.3% of his attempted passes in the German top tier (stats via whoscored).

Krauß is under contract at his parent club RB Leipzig until the summer of 2025. Hence, the Toffees will have to make a convincing offer if they want to recruit the German talent ahead of the season.

What Will Krauß Bring To Everton?

Krauß can get stuck in with a few solid tackles to make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park. He can sense the danger well to earn the ball back for his team in midfield and doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when required. Krauß mainly functions as a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate as a defensive midfielder or as a right-sided wide player if his manager asks him to do so.

However, as mentioned earlier, the German youngster has to find a way to improve his passing accuracy if he wants to become a more accomplished footballer in the future.

Krauß has what it takes to bring some much-needed bite and steel to Everton boss Sean Dyche‘s midfield. He might even help the Toffees secure a top-half finish in the Premier League next season.

At 21, Krauß will only get better with each season. Hence, he will be a great, long-term option for the Merseyside club to consider when the transfer window reopens next month.
