QPR made changes to their forward line over the summer, but how much per week are the Hoops current strikers estimated to earn?

Queen's Park Rangers made alterations to their forward ranks over the summer, with notable departures and arrivals overseen by boss Martí Cifuentes. With the new attacking signings coming from the respective Swiss and Belgian top-flights, what weekly wage are they, and the club's other strikers, estimated to command?

Promising youngster Sinclair Armstrong departed Loftus Road over the summer, the powerful striker joining Championship rivals Bristol City.

Also moving on to pastures new was Australian-born Scottish international Lyndon Dykes, with the 28-year-old target man joining Birmingham City's expensively assembled League One squad under new boss Chris Davies.

Replacing the pair, the Hoops' Spanish manager brought in 30-year-old Swiss striker Michael Frey and Slovenian international Zan Celar, who joined from Royal Antwerp and Lugano respectively, ahead of the 2024/25 Championship campaign.

Rangers are probably still a little light in forward areas, and may well have an eye on free agent strikers that remain available following the closure of the summer transfer window. It's something we've looked at in previous articles, and the fact that Cifuentes has just Frey, Celar and the versatile Paul Smyth to rely on to lead the attack may become problematic if not rectified soon.

That issue will be dependent on finances, and whether QPR are in a position to further add to their squad. With that in mind, we take a look at the estimated earnings of the Hoops current strikers, using football data provider Capology as a guide.

3 Paul Smyth - £7,500-per-week

27-year-old Northern Irishman Paul Smyth is back for his second spell at Loftus Road, having previously left the club in 2021.

The energetic, battling attacker is often used out wide, but is more than capable of operating as a frontman, something he may be required to do over the coming weeks and months if injuries begin to hit the Rangers squad.

Having made 12 appearances for his country, the former Linfield, Accrington Stanley and Leyton Orient man is believed to have two years remaining on his £7.5k-a-week contract (excluding bonuses) in West London, making him around £390k-per-annum.

2 Zan Celar - £8,000-per-week

Slovenian international Zan Celar, who played for his country at Euro 2024, joined QPR from Swiss Super League side Lugano over the summer.

Having previously spent time in Italian football with Roma, Cittadella, and Cremonese, the striker's three years in Switzerland saw him become prolific in front of goal.

This sufficiently impressed the Rangers hierarchy, who paid an undisclosed fee to bring the 25-year-old to the club on a deal worth an estimated £8k-a-week, which equates to £416k-per-year.

1 Michael Frey - £15,000-per-week

Experienced striker Michael Frey looks a very shrewd piece of business for QPR, with the big striker standing out in their opening Championship matches over recent weeks.

Having played for Switzerland at various age groups, the imposing attacker has previously played across Europe for the likes of Lille, Fenerbahçe and Schalke 04, with the 30-year-old left Belgian side Royal Antwerp to join Cifuentes' side over the summer.
