Swansea don't have many striking options in their current squad, with minimal options as a nine, who out of their strikers earns the most?

Luke Williams' Swansea City side have made a strong start to the season but the goals haven't exactly been flying in.

The Swans are seventh in the Championship with three wins and a draw in their first six games but have found the net only seven times in the league, which is something Williams will want to see improve in the coming weeks.

Three of those have been supplied by Swansea's two strikers – Liam Cullen and Zan Vipotnik. It's an area that supporters may have expected to see further investment in during what was a fairly busy summer.

With the help of Capology's estimations, we've taken a look at the number nines in Williams' squad and what they're earning.

It's important to stress that these are estimated figures but they still help to give an idea of the sort of money that the South Wales club are investing in their marksmen.

Liam Cullen - £4,000-per-week

The first out of the two options and the lowest earner in the striking department is Cullen, who is on an estimated £4,000 per week.

Despite being Swansea's first-choice striker and current top scorer, this makes him one of the lowest earners in the squad. Remarkably, he is estimated to earn less than half of the average wage at Swansea, which is estimated to be £8,604 per week.

The Swans' academy graduate has finally cemented his place in the side and has bagged twice this season – finding the net against their arch-rivals Cardiff City and in last Saturday's 2-1 victory for Williams against Coventry City.

If Cullen can continue his bright start to the season, surely the 25-year-old will be due a new contract.

The Championship club triggered a one-year extension in the summer, amid links away from the Swansea.com Stadium, while Williams has backed him to earn a new long-term deal.

Should that come to fruition, Cullen and his representatives will rightfully demand significantly improved terms.

Zan Vipotnik - £12,500-per-week

Vipotnik was the only striker that was signed this summer, joining the Swans on a free transfer after the 22-year-old flourished with Bordeaux last season – scoring ten goals.

The Slovenian is estimated to earn £12,500 a week, according to Capology, making him the sixth-highest earner at the club.

Vipotnik hasn't been able to hit the ground running with Cullen in good form, only scoring the one goal, which came in a 3-0 home triumph over Preston North End.

His annual salary trumps that of Cullen by some margin. It is estimated he will earn £650,000 a year, which is higher than the average player in the Swans' squad at £447,385 annually.

It comes as no surprise that the Slovenian is on the higher side of the wage bill. After impressing spells in France and with Slovenian outfit Maribor, signing him on a free wouldn't have come cheap.

The Swans are yet to really see the return on their investment but it usually takes a bit of time for players to settle and it's far too soon to pass judgement on the summer arrival.
