Antonio Cassano offered his verdict on Sunday’s Derby d’Italia clash between arch-rivals Juventus and Inter Milan.

Speaking to Viva el Futbol via FCInter1908, Cassano blasted some tactical choices made by Simone Inzaghi.

Juventus claimed a narrow 1-0 win at the Allianz Stadium, courtesy of Francisco Conceicao’s second-half goal.

However, Inter could’ve and should’ve taken the lead in the first half.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri wasted several sitters and eventually got punished for profligacy.

“You all keep saying it, but I don’t see this great revolutionary idea of Inter at all,” Cassano said.

“If you don’t have a plan B, disasters like this happen.

“Inter fell asleep in the second half, I don’t know what happened at halftime.

“I saw a sluggish Inter.”

“If the first half ends 4/5-0 for Inter yesterday,” He added. “4 or 5 huge chances, Inter didn’t deserve to lose.

“I don’t understand what happened between the first and second half, Inter seemed like Sanmartinese, Juventus like Barcelona.”

Meanwhile, he stood up to defend Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

“Mkhitaryan talks little but talks right, he’s a superstar, I have a lot of respect for him,” he continued.

“They are strongest is the reality, but for four years… One Scudetto in four years is risky, I have to break your balls here.

“The improvements and everything, but then I say: something escapes me.”

“Mkhitaryan told the truth, not some bullshit. For four years Inter has been far stronger and risks winning only one championship, one.

“What should Napoli say, tell me? Conte changes formation and invents something given the situation.”

Then, he blasted Simone Inzaghi for his predictability.

“Dimarco isn’t well,” Cassano said.

“Bastoni is having a good season but is struggling physically, even yesterday the best was Dumfries who was running like a train.

“Why does Inzaghi make those three substitutions at 60’? I don’t understand.

“What situation crossed his mind when the first half had been so amazing?”

Tactical Rigidness

“I used to tell you about Allegri, now I always see the same ideas with Inzaghi at Inter,” Cassano was harsh.

“Identical, that’s why it’s risky to fall behind…

“Inter has two teams, it needs personality, why can’t Zielinski play as a starter? Zalewski came on well, why doesn’t he play? Inzaghi last year preferred Lukaku over Dybala.

“Where do you put Joao Felix and Nico Paz in this Inter? The team doesn’t have a plan B, it was the same at Lazio, 3-5-2.

“On the wings, he doesn’t want people who dribble, it’s simple.

“Where would Inzaghi play Vinicius? If Felix arrives, you put him in competition with the starters… And he doesn’t want that.”
