Henrikh Mkhitaryan really took the midfield battle to the likes of Jesper Karlstrom and Sandi Lovric yesterday.

The Armenian was aggressive in his positioning, therefore. And he had the legs and pace to keep up with Udinese’s very physical midfield unit.

This really came to the fore in certain counterattacking situations, therefore.

Mkhitaryan was regularly at the heart of Inter’s most dangerous breaks forward.

The 36-year-old carried the ball into the penalty area with purpose and precision throughout the first half.
