Ex-Bayern striker amazed by next generation | OneFootball

Former Bayern Munich striker Sandro Wagner has been singing the praises of his former club, predicting that fans can look to the future in confidence.

The 32-year old believes the Bavarians are in good hands and that the next generation holds immense potential.

Players like Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry and Alphonso Davies are all under-25 and have played a huge part in the Bundesliga champions recent revival under Hansi Flick.

After Saturday’s 5-0 win over Schalke, Bayern are now within just a point of RB Leipzig at the top of the table.

And Wagner, who now plays for Chinese Super League side Tianjin Teda, believes the club are in good hands.

“Bayern has a bright future with a view to the next six or seven years,” he told Kicker.

“Every Bayern fan can look to the future with confidence and trust Brazzo and the other decision-makers.”

Wagner was in the youth ranks at the club between 1995 and 2006, before forming a career around the top two tiers in Germany.

He returned to the club for a year in 2018 in a €13m move from Hoffenheim, scoring ten goals in his time at the Allianz Arena.
