Juan Veron feels that while Lazio are currently in great form, Inter Milan are a “winning machine.”
The Argentine spoke to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, ahead of tomorrow’s Serie A match. He particularly emphasized Inter’s squad depth.
Inter take on Lazio in Serie A tomorrow evening.
The Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri go into the match level on points in the table. Inter do, however, have a game in hand.
There is a real sense that Monday’s match could have real Serie A title implications.
And not just for Inter and Lazio. The likes of Atalanta, Napoli, Fiorentina, and even Juventus and AC Milan will certainly be paying close attention.
Inter will certainly know the quality of the team they’re up against.
Lazio have been a formidable team this season. The big matches are often where they’ve shone the most – with their last two matches being victories over Napoli and Ajax.
However, Inter have been building into a trophy-winning team for several years at this point.
Former midfielder Veron played for both Lazio and Inter, as well as Parma, Sampdoria, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
Veron noted that “Lazio seem to be in great form to me.”
“They beat Napoli away. They’re getting better and better.”
“The atmosphere around the team and I think Baroni is doing a great job,” said Veron.
“They’re a team that always attack. They try and maintain possession of the ball, and then recover it quickly when they lose it with good pressing.”
Then Veron noted “Inter, despite having lost the last match in the Champions League, are a winning machine.”
“No one in Italy has a squad like the Nerazzurri’s,” the Argentine said.
“They can virtually rely on two starting elevens. That’s certainly an advantage for them.”
Veron said that “Inter have world-class players like Lautaro, Thuram, Barella, Calhanoglu, Dimarco.”
“I believe Inter have something more than Lazio,” the Argentine added. “But that doesn’t mean they’ll win.”
