Danilo D’Ambrosio has decided to accept a proposal from Monza amidst newly promoted side Genoa’s advances.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Danilo D’Ambrosio was being firmly chased by Genoa who are aiming to survive the Serie A after securing recent promotion. However, the Rossoblu showed a lack of conviction as they are waiting to see the chances of signing Koni De Winter and Alessandro Zanoli. This wait has paved the way for Monza to bid and practically secure the former Inter full-back.
Monza CEO Adriano Galliani is an admirer of D’Ambrosio who tried to land him in Milan several years ago but he chose to go with the Nerazzurri.
The 34-year-old’s contract expired with Inter at the end of last season. He will join as the second player coming from the Coppa Italia champions after the arrival of Roberto Gagliardini.
Monza’s offer is of a one-year contract with an option to extend for another. Playing for the Lombardy-based club will also let the player stay in Milan and continue his career. These aspects are expected to have influenced his decision.
