Former Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar has been offered to Juventus after falling down the pecking order at PSG.
This according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com. They report that the shock transfer could only happen on loan, and that Paris Saint-Germain would have to cover part of Skriniar’s wages.
Skriniar has been at Paris Saint-Germain since the summer of 2023.
The Slovak international joined the Parisians on a free transfer after his contract with Inter expired.
This came at the end of a long and at times torrid contract saga between Skriniar and the Nerazzurri.
Inter had been negotiating with PSG to sell Skriniar throughout the summer of 2022. However, they did not reach an agreement with the club from the French capital.
Therefore, Inter tried to extend Skriniar’s contract. However, the former Sampdoria defender rejected the Nerazzurri’s offers, instead agreeing a move to the Parc des Princes.
Skriniar’s move to the French capital has not gone according to plan for either the defender or for PSG, however.
PSG coach Luis Enrique has never really warmed to the 29-year-old’s style of play.
Therefore, Skriniar has found playing time hard to come by.
So much so that the former Inter defender is now looking for an exit route. And PSG certainly would not stand in his way.
And a shock possibility has emerged in the form of Juventus.
On the one hand, it would certainly be controversial if Skriniar were to join the Bianconeri. They are the bitter Derby d’Italia rivals of his former side Inter.
Therefore, a move to Juventus would hardly sit well with Inter supporters. And it could be difficult for Bianconeri fans to accept the Slovakian at first.
But on the pitch, there would be a certain logic to the move.
Juventus are searching for a defender to fill the void left by Bremer, who is out for the season with an iunjury.
And Skriniar is a defender with the same sort of profile as Bremer, and who has certainly proven himself in Serie A even if he has struggled at PSG.
Therefore, CM report, Skriniar’s agents have sounded out a move with Juventus.
And the Bianconeri would certainly consider bringing the former Nerazzurri man in.
But there would be two necessary conditions for the move.
Firstly, PSG would have to be willing to loan Skriniar out for the second half of the season. And secondly, the French champions would have to cover part of his wages.
