Lazio midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bahiru will reportedly get the nod in Sunday’s Serie A contest against Parma.
In addition to the disappointing result, the goalless draw against Ludogorets left Marco Baroni with a few selection headaches, as Boulaye Dia picked up an ankle knock while Matias Vecino suffered a muscle injury. Hence, the Lazio boss has been left with a shortage of options, especially in the midfield department which already lacks Gaetano Castrovilli.
Nicolo Rovella and Matteo Guendouzi should start in the double pivot as usual, but choosing an attacking midfielder is the main dilemma. But according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Baroni has made up his mind, selecting Dele-Bashiru for the role behind Taty Castellanos.
As the source explains, Pedro and Tijjani Noslin are the alternative options, but will likely be dropped to the bench. The Spaniard is coming off back-to-back matches, so starting the 37-year-old three times a week remains inadvisable. On the other hand, the versatile Dutchman failed to impress against Ludogorets, which hampered his chances of earning a second starting berth in a row.
As for Dele-Bashiru, this would be his first start in Serie A since Matchday two against Udinese. He has thus far registered two goals and as many assists in eight appearances across all competitions. The source also tips Gustav Isaksen and Mattia Zaccagni to take the wings, with Manuel Lazzari and Luca Pellegrini behind them. Alessio Romagnoli and Mario Gila should regain their spots at the back.
Lazio Probable XI (4-2-3-1): Provedel; Lazzari, Gila, Romagnoli, Pellegrini; Guendouzi, Rovella; Isaksen, Dele-Bashiru, Zaccagni; Castellanos
