A former member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this week reiterated his hopes of one day securing a return to the club.

The player in question? Nico Páz.

Youngster Páz, for his part, secured a departure from the Spanish capital last summer.

In the knowledge that his route to first-team minutes remained a crowded one at best this season, the Argentine international made the call to leave his long-time club behind.

Páz, in turn, put pen to paper on terms with Serie A newcomers Como, under the watch of midfield icon Cesc Fàbregas.

The 20-year-old has since enjoyed a stellar start to life in Italy, shining on his way to five goals and four assists from the heart of the Como engine room.

Such excellence has given rise to early murmurs that Páz’s form has already piqued the attention of those back at Real Madrid, who secured a buyback option as part of the terms of his sale.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, the subject of a potential reunion with his former employers was therefore put to the player himself.

And, in quotes secured by Sky and relaid by Fabrizio Romano, Páz went on to admit:

“I’m not planning my future now, I’m focused on Como. But who knows? My dream one day would be to return and play for Real Madrid.”
